The K-Music Project (KMP), a pilot program that aims to globalize Korean traditional music amid booming popularity of the Korean wave, will be held from Nov. 6 to 10 at Sori Arts Center of North Jeolla Province.

The KMP is an “East-meets-West”event as it invites two overseas groups and two domestic groups, each of which will present Korean traditional music.

The first day will begin with a nonverbal performance “Beat,”which is a combination of rock and traditional Korean percussion performed by Seoul Performing Acts. There are no performances on the second day.

On Nov. 8, the group SowerProject and three European singers ― Matthieu Rauchvager, Cumali Bulduk and Kari Chihab will present fusion Korean classical music titled “Companion.” On the next day, “pansori” singer Oh Jeong-hye and the ensemble team Free Soul will perform.

The last day will be filled with Korean traditional music reinterpreted by the act Archipel Pansori whose members are pansori diva Min Hye-sung, and five European jazz musicians ― Leonardo Garcia, Jean-Charles Richard, Amault Cuisinier, Nicolas Deflache and Herve Pejaudier.
